## Description
Unofficial Albert Heijn server: products, bonus deals, recipes, shopping list, orders and receipts.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **ah_login** — Log in: opens a login window on your computer, or returns AH's login link and completes the login with the code you paste back.
- **ah_logout** — Delete the stored tokens, to switch accounts or reset a session.
- **ah_get_member_profile** — Name, masked email, and bonus card number (last 4 digits).
- **ah_search_products** — Search one or more keywords at once; Dutch terms work best. Filter by `bonus=true` or by `filters` (organic, vegan, gluten_free and other diets, allergens and labels), and `sort` by price, what you buy most, or Nutri-Score.
- **ah_get_products** — Details for one or more products. `include_nutritional_info=true` adds the nutrition table.
- **ah_get_product_alternatives** — Similar products and substitutes AH suggests for a product.
- **ah_get_bonus_offers** — This week's bonus offers, or next week's with `period=next`. `previously_bought=true` limits them to products you bought before (AH's "Eerder gekocht"). Can filter by keyword.
- **ah_get_bonus_group_products** — The individual products behind a group deal such as "2+1 gratis".
- **ah_search_stores** — Nearby stores, by postal code or your own address.
- **ah_get_last_chance_items** — Vandaag-af markdowns in a store; the one nearest your address by default.
- **ah_search_recipes** — Search Allerhande recipes; Dutch terms work best.
- **ah_get_recipe** — Ingredients, steps, and nutrition per serving. `servings` scales the ingredients.
- **ah_add_recipe_to_shopping_list** — Match a recipe's ingredients to products and add them to the list in one step. It prefers products on bonus (`prefer_bonus=false` turns that off); `skip` leaves out what you have, and `dry_run=true` previews the matches.
- **ah_get_shopping_list** — Your shopping list ("Mijn lijst"), the basket you fill while shopping.
- **ah_add_to_shopping_list** — Put products on the list, with a quantity each.
- **ah_add_free_text_to_shopping_list** — Add a free-text item, like "verse bloemen".
- **ah_remove_from_shopping_list** — Remove products or free-text items.
- **ah_clear_shopping_list** — Remove everything. Requires `confirm="yes"`.
- **ah_get_favorite_lists** — Your favourite lists ("Mijn lijstjes").
- **ah_add_to_favorite_list** — Add products to a favourite list.
- **ah_remove_from_favorite_list** — Take products off a favourite list.
- **ah_create_favorite_list** — Start a new, empty favourite list.
- **ah_delete_favorite_list** — Delete a favourite list and its items. Requires `confirm="yes"`.
- **ah_get_delivery_slots** — Delivery windows at your address for the coming days.
- **ah_get_cart** — Products in the active order, with total price and discount.
- **ah_update_cart_item** — Change a product's quantity; 0 takes it out.
- **ah_remove_from_cart** — Remove a product from the order.
- **ah_clear_cart** — Remove everything from the order. Requires `confirm="yes"`.
- **ah_get_orders** — Upcoming delivery orders, or past ones with `past=true`.
- **ah_get_order_details** — Products in one order.
- **ah_get_frequent_items** — Your most-ordered products, counted over your delivery orders.
- **ah_get_receipts** — Recent in-store receipts (kassabonnen).
- **ah_get_receipt_details** — Items, discounts and payment for one receipt.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "albert-heijn": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","albert-heijn-mcp"],
    "env": {
      "AH_MCP_TOKEN": ""
    }
  }
}
```

**Requires environment variables:** `AH_MCP_TOKEN` — the values above are empty placeholders; fill in real credentials before running (see the repository for what each one is for).

## Documentation

## What Albert Heijn MCP server does

The Albert Heijn MCP server exposes an Albert Heijn account through MCP tools for grocery planning and ordering workflows. It can search products using one or more keywords, inspect product details and nutrition, find suggested alternatives, and filter results by bonus status, dietary labels, allergens or other supported filters. Dutch search terms generally produce the best results.

The server also covers Allerhande recipes. An assistant can search recipes, retrieve ingredients, preparation steps and nutrition per serving, then scale the ingredient quantities for a different number of servings. Recipe ingredients can be matched to Albert Heijn products and added to a shopping list in one operation. The matching process can prefer products currently on bonus, skip items the user already has, or run as a preview with no changes.

For the shopping workflow, tools read and modify the active shopping list, add free-text items, manage favourite lists, inspect the active cart, change quantities and remove products. Delivery tools show available time windows, while order tools list upcoming or previous orders and retrieve the products in a selected order. Store search and Vandaag-af markdown lookup support local shopping decisions.

## How it works

The Albert Heijn MCP server communicates with an AI client through the Model Context Protocol. Local clients start it with `npx -y albert-heijn-mcp`, or users can install the package globally and run its command. Claude Desktop can install the published MCP bundle, while Cursor and VS Code provide installation links in the project documentation.

Authentication begins through the `ah_login` tool. On a computer with a supported browser and display, the server opens a separate Albert Heijn login window. If that is not possible, it returns a login link and completes authentication after the user supplies a code. `ah_logout` removes stored tokens so another account can be used or the session can be reset.

## Setup and configuration

An Albert Heijn account is required. Local use requires Node.js 24 LTS and an MCP client that can launch a command. A typical client configuration uses the `npx` command with `albert-heijn-mcp` as its package argument. The package can also be installed globally with npm.

For ChatGPT or Claude.ai, the server must run on an internet-accessible host because those web and mobile clients cannot start a local process. The hosted MCP endpoint is added as a connector. The documented hosted login flow uses `AH_MCP_TOKEN`, entered once on the server's login page.

After installation, ask the connected assistant to log in. Local browser authentication requires Chrome, Edge, Brave or Chromium and a screen; otherwise the manual code-based flow can be used from a desktop browser.

## Tools and capabilities

- Search products, inspect nutrition, find alternatives and filter by bonus or dietary criteria.
- Retrieve current or upcoming bonus offers, including products from grouped promotions.
- Search stores by postal code or address and find nearby Vandaag-af markdown items.
- Search Allerhande recipes, scale servings and add matched ingredients to a list.
- Read and edit the shopping list, free-text items, favourite lists and active cart.
- Check delivery slots, upcoming or past orders, and individual order contents.
- Read the member profile with name, masked email and the final four bonus-card digits.

## Limitations and notes

The Albert Heijn MCP server is unofficial and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Albert Heijn. It uses the same API as the Albert Heijn mobile application, so API behaviour may change without notice. Product and recipe searches work best with Dutch terms.

Destructive operations require an explicit confirmation value: clearing the shopping list, deleting a favourite list and clearing the cart require `confirm="yes"`. The login browser uses a fresh profile, so saved passwords and password-manager extensions are unavailable in that window. The server belongs in the E-Commerce category and should be treated as an account-connected shopping tool rather than an independent product database.
