## Documentation

## What the AITOPIA MCP server does

The AITOPIA MCP server gives compatible AI agents access to AITOPIA's media creation, editing, upload, and analysis workflows. It supports images, video, voiceovers, music, and sound effects, along with production playbooks for product commercials, creator-style UGC ads, short-form videos, YouTube thumbnails, and brand kits.

The AITOPIA MCP server is suited to agent-driven creative tasks where the input may be a prompt, an existing asset, or a request to inspect media. Generated and processed results are stored in the user's AITOPIA account, allowing work to continue there after the agent completes an action.

## How it works

The service is exposed at `https://mcp.aitopia.ai/mcp` as a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server. A client connects to that URL and completes OAuth sign-in in a browser when the first AITOPIA action is requested. No local server installation is required.

The repository also provides Markdown skills that guide agents through common workflows. The skills can be installed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other supported agents. They can be used explicitly by skill name or selected by an agent when a request matches a workflow.

Assets can move between operations: the upload skill accepts a local photo, video, audio file, or document, then returns an asset URL for other skills. Generated stills and clips can be passed to the editing workflow for further processing.

## Setup and configuration

Add the remote MCP endpoint to the client of your choice, then sign in with an AITOPIA account. The README documents direct setup for Codex, one-click installation for Cursor and VS Code, a Gemini CLI extension, and custom connector setup for Claude web or desktop. It also documents installing the skills package with `npx skills` or through the Claude Code marketplace.

The repository includes an AITOPIA CLI as another access path, with commands for operations such as image generation and video dubbing. CLI installation and usage are separate from connecting an MCP client.

## Tools and capabilities

The documented skills and operations include:

- Generate images, video, voiceovers, music, and sound effects.
- Edit clips by joining, trimming, resizing, overlaying text or logos, adding subtitles, changing speed, and managing audio.
- Upload local media or documents, with documented limits of 95 MB for local files and 200 MB from a public URL.
- Analyze images, video, and audio for summaries, spoken content, on-screen text, scenes, ad feedback, or recreation prompts.
- Build product ads, UGC videos, short videos, thumbnails, and brand kits.

The AITOPIA MCP server can also analyze video scenes with timestamps, after which those timestamps can guide editing operations.

## Limitations and notes

Generation consumes credits from the connected AITOPIA account. Editing and uploads are described as cheap or free, while generation costs depend on the account and operation. The README states that video analysis currently accepts videos up to 2 MB and that an analysis costs about three credits; failed runs are not charged. A dry-run option can check the price before running an analysis.

Long video-generation jobs finish in the background. The documented skills and playbooks are loaded at runtime, so workflow guidance can change without reinstalling the package. The service requires browser-based account sign-in, and results remain associated with the AITOPIA account.
