## Documentation

## What adiosdotdev/mcp MCP server does

The adiosdotdev/mcp MCP server exposes Adios workspace and workload operations to compatible MCP clients. It is intended for development and operations tasks such as creating or importing a workspace, updating source, checking configuration, running builds, starting previews, inspecting logs, and deploying approved changes.

The hosted service is the operational backend. The GitHub repository packages connection metadata, client-specific installation manifests, workflow skills, documentation, and a Node.js bridge; it does not require users to deploy the Adios MCP service themselves.

## How it works

The preferred connection uses Streamable HTTP at `https://api.adios.dev/v1/mcp`. Clients without Streamable HTTP support can use the SSE endpoint at `https://api.adios.dev/v1/mcp/sse`. Public endpoints provide connection metadata and tool discovery, but actions on workspaces or workloads require an Adios account.

Authentication uses Adios OAuth rather than a static token. Calls are limited to the authenticated user and team. Clients that need a local process can run `npx -y @adiosdotdev/mcp`; this command bridges stdio traffic to the hosted endpoint and starts OAuth when the client connects. Adios platform components do not run locally through this bridge.

Two supplied workflows organize common tasks. The build-and-deploy workflow covers workspace setup, source updates, `adios.yaml` validation, linting, builds, previews, and deployment after approval. The operate-and-debug workflow covers Git and runtime inspection, command state, log analysis, failure diagnosis, and verified operational fixes.

## Setup and configuration

Install through the Codex marketplace, Claude Code marketplace, Gemini CLI extension, Kimi Code plugin manager, or the portable Agent Plugins v1 package. The repository also documents direct remote connections for other MCP clients. For local stdio configuration, use Node.js 20.18.1 or newer with npm and configure the client to run `npx -y @adiosdotdev/mcp`.

The adiosdotdev/mcp MCP server can also be added directly to Codex with the hosted URL, followed by an OAuth login. Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and other supported clients have corresponding installation or authentication commands documented in the repository. Skill-only installation adds workflow guidance but does not configure the MCP connection.

## Tools and capabilities

Supported operations include:

- Managing Adios workspaces and source
- Validating `adios.yaml`, linting, and building
- Starting and inspecting previews
- Reading logs and examining runtime or command state
- Managing services and performing operational fixes
- Deploying to production after approval

The live `/tools` endpoint is the authoritative source for current tool schemas and groups. Repository documentation describes the available categories, but tool availability can change at the hosted service.

## Limitations and notes

Deployments, workload changes, runtime stops, remote Git pushes, and file deletion are approval-sensitive operations. Credentials, OAuth tokens, app credentials, and workspace secrets should not be committed to the repository or application source.

The adiosdotdev/mcp MCP server requires an Adios account for actions beyond public metadata and discovery. OAuth must be completed by the client, and clients that do not support Streamable HTTP should use the documented SSE fallback. The repository is MIT licensed.
