## What the 24htrack-mcp MCP server does

The 24htrack-mcp MCP server gives an MCP-compatible AI client access to package tracking through 24htrack.com. It supports more than 3,200 carriers, including USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, China Post, Yanwen, YunExpress, UniUni, SpeedX, Evri, 4PX, Canada Post, Royal Mail, Australia Post, and DPD.

The service can identify a carrier automatically from a tracking number. This lets an agent accept tracking numbers without requiring the user to name the delivery company first. Tracking results include the current status and the shipment's event history.

## How it works

The server runs as an npx-launched MCP process and uses the `TRACK24H_API_KEY` environment variable to authenticate with the 24htrack.com service. After the client connects it, an agent can call the exposed tools directly or invoke them through natural-language requests.

`track_package` checks up to 40 packages in one request and returns status information with event history. Registered shipments can be managed separately from one-off lookups. `register_tracking` adds tracking numbers for monitoring, while `list_tracking` returns registered numbers and their statuses. `realtime_track` requests a fresh check, with results expected in 2–5 minutes. `delete_tracking` archives tracking numbers, and `get_carriers` lists supported carriers.

## Setup and configuration

Create an account at 24htrack.com, open Developer Settings, and generate an API key. Configure the MCP client to start the package with `npx -y 24htrack-mcp`, then pass the key as `TRACK24H_API_KEY`.

Claude Desktop uses an `mcpServers` entry with the server command, arguments, and environment variable. Claude Code can add the server with `claude mcp add 24htrack -- npx -y 24htrack-mcp`, followed by setting the environment variable.
