## What 1acre Land Intelligence MCP server does

The 1acre Land Intelligence MCP server exposes 1acre.in land-intelligence functions through MCP. It works with Indian location and cadastral data, including state, district, mandal, and village navigation; survey-number discovery; parcel identification from latitude and longitude; and report retrieval.

It can also return verified 1acre land listings within a radius, describe available map layers near a coordinate, and fetch attributes from supported layers. Layer results may include planning or infrastructure information such as zones, permissible height, corridor distance, master plans, air funnels, expressways, and metro coverage, where available.

A separate intake tool creates a “sell my land” request and returns a pre-filled WhatsApp link for the 1acre listings team. Generated reports can be reopened by ID, and their GeoJSON boundary coordinates can be requested without spending additional tokens.

## How it works

The 1acre Land Intelligence MCP server is hosted at `https://mcp.1acre.in/mcp`; this repository provides connection instructions rather than the server implementation. MCP clients communicate with the remote endpoint over HTTP and invoke tools as the authenticated 1acre user.

Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The sign-in flow uses a phone number and one-time SMS verification, and the phone number must belong to an existing 1acre.in account. Clients that support dynamic OAuth client registration can register automatically. Clients without that capability require a client ID obtained from 1acre.

Free tools include balance checks, location browsing, survey-number listing, layer discovery, report reopening, coordinate retrieval, and sell-listing intake. Paid calls draw from the account’s “1a” token balance. A balance check should be used before paid work because it reports the current allowance and prices. Requests that would exceed the available balance fail with `insufficient_tokens`.

## Setup and configuration

For Claude Code, add the remote server with the HTTP transport and the documented callback port and client ID, then complete sign-in from the `/mcp` interface. Claude Desktop uses an MCP configuration entry containing the endpoint, HTTP transport, OAuth client ID, and callback port. Cursor uses the same endpoint in `~/.cursor/mcp.json` and prompts for authentication when a tool is first called.

Create a 1acre.in account before connecting, using the phone number intended for MCP authentication. Sessions are managed by the authentication service, while the MCP client refreshes access tokens. The repository documents the OAuth discovery URL and a health endpoint for the hosted service.

Listings pages contain up to 10 results. The service permits 60 requests per minute per OAuth access token. Token allowances depend on account tier, and credited tokens expire after 365 days.

## Limitations and notes

The repository does not contain the server source code; it contains client configuration and documentation. The service is specific to 1acre’s Indian land data and account system, so access depends on having a 1acre.in account and an authenticated MCP client.

Free tools are unlimited according to the documentation, but paid tools consume the account’s spendable balance. Empty land-listing pages and layer misses do not consume tokens.
